Crisis Volunteer, Lines for Life, Portland, OR (2024-Current)

  • Completed 60+ hours of intensive training in suicide prevention protocols, Lines for Life is accredited by the American Association of Suicidology.

  • Skilled call center volunteer applying numerous harm reduction techniques.

Phone Intake Volunteer, Jane’s Due Process, Austin, TX (2016-2018)

  • Assisted minors in accessing 48-hour emancipations for abortion services and legal support.

  • Applied deep listening skills and trained techniques to support pregnant minors to answer intake questions that helped ensure their autonomy in the legal process.

Counseling Volunteer, KOLO Cross-Cultural Collaboration, Olympia, WA (2003-2012)

  • Worked in Bosnia with survivors of the Balkan war to create inter-community support spaces. 

  • Co-facilitated daily therapy groups to empower individuals by giving them agency in their healing.

  • Worked the needle exchange daily, safely disposed of, and supplied sterile needles.
